Barcelona and Brazil midfielder Rafinha has backed Neymar to overtake Blaugrana teammate Lionel Messi as the best in the world, but cautions the "from another planet" Argentine is still No. 1 and is his pick to win a fifth Ballon d'Or trophy in January.
Rafinha, who is currently recovering from knee surgery after going down injured in Barcelona's 1-1 draw with Roma in September, has seen both players up close daily in training sessions and in matches.
While the 22-year-old son of Brazilian World Cup champ Mazinho believes Messi is the game's undeniable best player now, he told Brazil's Globo the future belongs to national team teammate Neymar.
"I'm a fan of Neymar but I have to admit that Messi is from another planet. In the future, Neymar will be the best in the world, but right now it's Messi."
Rafinha is hoping to recover in time to be included in Brazil's squad for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Brazil have never won the Olympic tournament. And if they are to count on Rafinha for Rio, the midfielder says he will need to be playing semi-regularly at the Cam Nou.
"They operated three months ago, in January I'll start to run and I'll see when I can come back to the team," Rafinha added.
"I dream of being at the Olympics but I need more minutes with Barca to hope to be on the list for the Games."
